Hello my friends, how are you today? I pray you and yours are well. I also pray that you find peace and calm in these troubling times.

I had started to send a daily short message to friends and family long before that virus pushed us into virtual meetings. Wednesday morning my god-mother who is in her 80’s send me this video (please be patient if you do not understand Italian. I don’t either):

It overwhelmed me. I started to cry because of all that pain on this planet and the feeling of helplessness. We won’t be the same after this is over, and I fear that a lot of our liberties will be lost in the course of fighting COVID-19. But what are the alternatives? Let it rampage through our societies?

It was a good cry. I released all those fears and thought afterwards: After the horrors of WW2, a lot of good developments happened. I am a firm believer in the idea that what we focus on will come to pass. So I make it my passion to concentrate on good people and good things. They are out there in droves.

Jill over at “Filosofa’s Word” brought some extraordinary examples to our readers: Good People Doing Good Things — Kleenex Is Included . I am an ex-newspaper deliverer so I was rather touched by such humanity. And Lauren over at “A Gentlewoman and Scholar” has some great ideas to keep your kids entertained: “Community Spirit Without Contact” . And then there was the Bay View neighbourhood in Milwaukee. They truly went nuts for dinosaurs 🙂

Are you feeling better? I certainly do 🙂

So how was my day so far (12.57 pm Wednesday) besides crying my heart out and looking for good news? Ooooops 12.57 pm? I need to take my tablets. But eat beforehand… gets up clumsily to walk to the kitchen and prepares a sandwich and an orange. Eats. Oh, I want to —pets a carrot salad for tonight. Lets machine grate carrots and prepares marinade. Oh, the dog needs feeding. Does that. Gets upstairs to look for the dog. Comes back down. Cleans dishes. Makes a cup of tea. Pets dog. Changes playlist on YouTube. Lets dog out. The dog comes back. Pets dog again. Puts wood on the fire. Oh, exercises! Does that. Sits down at last. Oh, a cup of ea is still in the kitchen… bugger…

You really want to know more about my day? Gets up and grabs cup of tea…

Ok, I admit my day before this lunchtime activity wasn’t too busy. I watched “Pilgrimage – The Way to Istanbul“. That is a new series where several celebrities walk from Serbia to Istanbul. I watched the previous series where different personalities walked to Rome. I love this new series as one of the celebrities is Pauline McLynn who played Mrs Doyle in Father Ted, and another is a young Muslim broadcaster. It is so important, in my opinion, to show that young Muslim men who live their belief are not terrorists. Mim Shaikh the young broadcaster is so open to learning from other faiths but also acknowledges the problems his faith faces currently. It’s a very inspiring series.

Then I had a lay down to rest my arm, made oatmilk and sarted this post 🙂

Let’s remind ourselves why we are here:

Linda over at “Life in Progress” has started the “What day is it anyway” blog event. She invites us all to share a little of our new daily routines, struggles and successes. She writes: “

Why I’m writing this post:

Because if you’re like me and stuck at home already, or if you’re going to be like me soon, the days of the week are going to be hell to keep track of. We have a wonderful community here on WordPress and all over the Internet as well, and I’m sure many people are feeling nervous and/or isolated. I want to make sure every one of us has somewhere to congregate and someone to talk to.

I want everyone to know that you can start discussions with each other in the comments, and if you’d like to write your own “What Day is it Anyway?” post, you can link to this one. Hashtag #WDIIA.

Let’s keep in touch!

And I can only encourage you to take her up on the offer 🙂 . Here is her post from Tuesday.

It’s nearly three and my poor arm needs some more rest. So I leave you with a couple of links, that I’ve collected but haven’t reviewed yet. But I trust you can make up your own mind 🙂

Please help in the fight against breast cancer:

Just one more thing before you go: The hospital that is treating me is fundraising for a dedicated breast cancer unit which would allow same-day diagnosis and better premises for patients and staff.

Please, if you can spare a little money hop over to their Just Giving Page and give as little or much as you can. Or share the page on your social media. Your support means a lot to me! Thank you very much.

Thanks, my dears, for staying with me until the end. I appreciate your presence. Please stay safe, stay kind and remember that you rock!
