#Poem on Friday: Bow in Gratitude

Happy Friday to you all. Let your day rock no matter the challenges. I believe you can manage anything thrown at you.

Sowing and planting

These hopes grow every day

Bow in gratitude

Just a short note to everybody. I could start chemotherapy on Monday. Thankfully, I am not bothered with many side-effects (yet) but am really really tired so everything is going on a slow burner.

Thank you so much for all your kind messages on social media and here in the comments. I appreciate them a lot and they help me keep up on everything. Yesterday I wrote a little about my experience on Carol Anne’s “Therapy Bits”: “Bee’s Poem of the Day: Breathe” Please pay her blog a visit. Thanks.

Happy Friday despite everything!

#FirstLineFriday: Never Burn a Bridge

Hello out there, how are you faring? Do you have a cracking Friday or is the day *addcursewordofyourchoice” πŸ˜‰ ? If the latter is the case I am sending you a big thing to punch to get rid of your frustration and a hug. You will find a solution for your challenge, please, just don’t give up.

My Friday is ok. My mind is a little all over the place as it always is so please bear with me. πŸ™‚ Today I decided to take part in “Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie’s” “First Line Friday”. You can find the challenge and rules here at “First Line Friday: November 8th, 2019“.

The suggested first line is “Never burn a bridge you could push them off later ” which made me grin. There is nothing like a good dose of sarcasm to get through the day πŸ˜‰ . So with no further ado here is my contribution:

Never” dare I say

burn too much emotion into

a unicorn. They

bridge this and that sentiment.

You though

could soar with the clouds or

push my buttons.

Them!” they said disgusted.

Off with them”.

Later they regretted forever.

I admit I cheated a little with the first line as it is vertical not horizontal and I hope pushing these limits give you something to enjoy. πŸ™‚

Have a happy Friday no matter what and feel free to take part this great challenge!!!!!

Bee’s Poem of the Day: Tackling Brexit

Hello everybody, how are you doing? I hope life is treating you well and if not: remember you rock no matter the bumps in the road.

I was listening to last week’s Brexitcast in which a creative person made a vinyl with the “Brexitdisco”. He said Brexit caused him lots of anxiety and he wanted to change the whole sorry business into something positive.

Haven’t laughed about Brexit like that ever!!!!! Please listen here if you are so lucky as to get it: Brexitcast: Satuday Night Leaver.

After my post on Brexit over at Filosopha’s Word (Thanks Jill, you rock!) Bexit anxiety had hit me again quite badly so I thought why not follow in the gentleman’s footsteps.

No, don’t worry I won’t bother you with me singing awful 70’s songs (I actually love, love, love 70’s music, so don’t be fooled 😁). I thought I might make a short Brexit poem every day until this country gets over itself and moves somewhere back to sanity wherever that might be.

Have to admit I haven’t followed todays development on Brexit, so please, do not expect any brilliant insights from me. Just a snapshot of todays mood in the house of Halton 😁.

Brexit bring it on

No Deal might cure some high pride

Fog on the beaches

Yes, it was foggy in North Norfolk and I wrote about that over at Therapy Bits (Thanks Carol Anne for hosting my babbling πŸ€ͺ). I love all shades of autumn as I said over there and can’t wait to find out how tomorrows will be.

In this sense have a lovely evening, night, morning, day whenever you might read this πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈπŸ

Thirteen ~ A #poem

It’s Friday the thirteenth and some years ago I wrote a poem about this glorious number:

All my black cats & ladders

are dancing in my mind ~

Thirteen ~

holy to some ~

dangerous to others ~

Where is the truth?

Do you believe in bad luck on Friday the thirteenth or are you not bothered.

Find lots of information on Friday 13th on Liveabout.dotcom.

Sending you love and good vibes no matter what you believe 😊

Cassandra ~ A #poem

This poem was first posted in 2017 and it was not especially written for 9/11. But I feel it fits for commemorating this day that changed everything.

My thoughts and prayers are with everyone whose life was touched by these events.

Can you hear me?

I am calling out

To those who want to listen.

They do not understand.

They do not understand

The invisible chains

Connecting us to past failures.

They do not understand

The invisible thoughts

Their careless words create.

They do not understand

How we are all

They do not understand

I am calling out

To those who want to listen.

Can you hear me?

Cassandra is a figure in greek mythology who was given psychic abilities but noone would listen to her warnings.

Bee’s Poem of the Day: Unstoppable Today?

Hello, dear people of the blogoverse. How is your day? I hope life is treating you well and if not a candle is lit for sending you good vibes!

The heat has left Norfolk and it feels rather autumnal even though it is still warm. But as the soil is utterly dry since months the trees lose leaves since the beginning of August and it already looks more like October than late summer. Never mind.

Here another try of mine to create a haiku πŸ™‚

This dry soil and leaves

Leaves me saddened and longing

A heart keeps beating

May you have a wonderful day no matter what life throws at you.
