#Frapalymo is nearly over and I only took part on and off. That was ok even though I would have prefered to verse to all prompts. But there is life and that is why it does not always work out that way. Today’s prompt is “sichtbare Spuren” which translates into “visible traces”.

dark clouds in

the sky. they only let

a trace of sun through

As usual feel free to add your own creation. You have to add your link to the comments though as my blog is now self-hosted and ping-backs do not necessarily work. I will share your poem on social media. Have fun!

Findet Ihn hier:

ueber den bergen

streckt sich die sonne zum tag

hoffnung beginnt jetzt

“sehnsucht ist keine wanderdüne*” which means “longing/yearning is no wandering dune” . It is taken from a tweet by @wolkenloft.

This one was difficult to translate because “Sehnsucht” does not exactly translate into longing/yearning. But it is the closest.

over the mountains

sun is stretching itself towards the day

hope starts now

Today we have the second part of the double prompt and it is “glitzer” which means “glitter”.

sun glitter everywhere

i am in a traffic jam

Rosa

ein kanal

deine letzte ruhe.

dein leben

fuer frieden

beendet

durch

die ideologie des krieges.

keine rosa wolken

und

utopien

in deiner welt.

Dieses Gedicht is Rosa Luxemburg gewidmet.

Again @FrauPaulchen has challenged us to a double prompt ~ one today, one tomorrow ~ and it is a true challenge for me: Today’s is “Rosa” which means “pink” and I do hate pink with a passion ;-). Still, I will roll with it.

Rosa

a canal

your

last rest.

your life

for peace

ended

by

the ideology of war.

no pink clouds

and utopias

in your world.

This poem is dedicated to Rosa Luxemburg

Stuermische Nacht

meine augen schliessen

wind wirbelt ums haus

das kraechzen des gebaeudes

zwingt mich aus den Traeumen

werde ich

den Schlaf wieder finden?

Today @FrauPaulchen asked us to write a poem to a tweet by @_unruhe  in German which I translate as “bringing together two pieces of night”.

Stormy Night

I close my eyes

wind dances around the house

the croaking of the building

forces me from my dreams

will I

find sleep again?

PTBS

Mein Koerper

einem Geschmack

einem Gefuehl

Worten

I am back from my week with family and today I have started to volunteer in a hospital close by. My mind and heart is full and I am not sure I can concentrate again on #frapalymo or #NaNoWriMo but I try.

Today’s prompt is “if your body is a wordlessness” (* a tweet in German by @frauhasenherz translated by me)

PTSD

my body

calls back

memories

strong-voiced

with

a smell

a melody

a taste

a feeling

Verwandelt bekommt meine Seele Fluegel

und findet sich

wieder im Regen, im Blatt, das

faellt

Today @FrauPaulchen invited us to verse with words by Alice Oswald which were tweeted by @turmbuchhoch: it is “the story of the falling rain to turn into a leaf and fall again”. I used her words at the beginning of each line.

It is and it

is not

the thought of a

story about life.

Of wishes and plans

the life force is made

falling along the rift of

rain and rocks.

To us comes the task to

turn darkness

into creative love

a tantalising recovery.

Leaf through your stories

and consider a

fall of wisdom that

Again turns into a beginning.

Schon so dunkel!

Meine Gedanken wandern

zum offenen Feuer

zu Hause.

Today’s prompt is the second part of the double prompt which started yesterday and is “16.22”.

Afternoon in November

It’s already dark.

My thoughts wander

to the open fire at home.

Vier Uhr Zwei Und Zwanzig

Vier mal wach geworden.

Uhr angeschaut und

Zwei mal umgedreht

Und zwei mal aufgestanden.

Zwanzig mal Sorgen gemacht…

Manlake Gabriel

Today @FrauPaulchen asked us to have a look at the atmosphere and mood at 4.22 in the morning.

My English poem is not a direct translation of the German poem.

Four O’clock and Twenty Two Minutes

Four times woken up.

Oh, clock, why do you bother me?

And why do you give me

Twenty sorrows and

Two worries in all those

Minutes of the night?

#Poetry Friday: #frapalymo November 17 ~ #poem/#Gedicht No 10

You can find the English part after the photo.

Heimat?

Betrachtet und fördert
Ihr ew’gen Höhn
Den Silberbach in göttergleichen Lauf.

Der Schluchten
Scheint allein des Geistes Flügeln …

Doch jedem sein Gefühl
Wenn im blauen Raum
Der Adler über Heimat strebt.

Today @FrauPaulchen suggested writing an erasure/blackout poem which means you take a poem and erase words in it without changing the words themselves. She chose a poem by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe for us to erase but I can not find a translation of it. So I decided to offer you a poem by an English contemporary of Goethe: Simon Taylor Coleridge’s “Hymne before Sun Rise, in the vale of Chamouni” which you can find here. It is longer than the Goethe poem, however, I wanted to use one with a similar topic.

Feel free to add your own creation. You have to add your link to the comments though as my blog is now self-hosted and ping-backs do not necessarily work. I will share your poem on social media. Have fun!

Earth & God

So long.
How silently

We know my soul!

And you
Who From dark

Answer!

Utter forth God.
