Liebster Award from Gail

Looks like I take this week to catch up on all the challenges I was awarded this year. Yesterday I finished a story for Barbara’s “Tell a Story” challenge which was rather fun and today I follow Gail’s invitation for “The Liebster Award”. Thanks Gail, you rock!!!!

I have been awarded the “Liebster Award” before and am grateful that other bloggers feel my scribbling is worth mentioning 😉 . . Let’s remind ourselves of the rules.

The rules:
Acknowledge the blogger that gave it to you and display the award.
Answer 11 questions that the blogger gave you.
Give 11 random thoughts about yourself.
Nominate 11 other bloggers and notify them of their nomination.
Ask your nominees 11 questions.
“This award is meant to encourage new bloggers. From The Global Aussie: “The earliest case of the award goes as far back as 2011. Liebster in German means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome.”

Here are Gail’s questions:

Questions for the Nominees:

1. Who told you about God?
2. Do you have a favorite Bible verse?
3. How long’s it been since you used a landline?
4. What is your blog about?
5. How long have you had your blog?
6. What was your last post about?
7. Have you been baptized?
8. Do you have a favorite flower?
9. Is there something I could pray about for you?
10. What kind of books do you like to read?
11. What season is it for you where you live?

My answers:

1. Who told you about God?

That would have been my mother, I guess. She said a good night prayer with me from a very early age on. My parents weren’t religious in the sense that they went to church or were actively part of a religious community. However, they believed it was important to experience the main religion in our country. We said praise for our food and went to church at Christmas, for funerals and christenings. But I got rather involved in the protestant church in the village I grew up in and while I am not part of a church now and have my misgivings with some Christians I am very grateful for the protection Christianity and the church has given me as a youngster. I would not be alive without them and my godmother, grandmother and my friends.

2. Do you have a favorite Bible verse?

My goodness, it’s a long time since I thought or read a bible verse. When  my  mum passed away someone gave me a card with Isiah 66,13 on it: As a mother comforts her son, so I will comfort you!” The German translation is slightly different but it helped a lot. I guess this is the one 🙂

3. How long’s it been since you used a landline?

I got a call on Monday evening

4. What is your blog about?

Now that is a very good question: life, poetry, my pet peeve Brexit, photography, music, enlightening YouTube videos, self-care, mental health… you take a pick 😉

5. How long have you had your blog?

I started this one last year in April I think but I had several (nearly 20 LOL) before that. I started blogging back in 2009.

6. What was your last post about?

One of my poems called “Call me Sister”

7. Have you been baptized?

yes

8. Do you have a favorite flower?

Roses and Sunflowers

9. Is there something I could pray about for you?

I rather tell you that in private 🙂 but thanks a lot you think of me.

10. What kind of books do you like to read?

Fantasy and Crime novels (and pretty much everything else too 😉 )

11. What season is it for you where you live?

It is nearly spring. Hurray!

Ok, where are we now? 11 random facts about me. Oh dear,…

Das Award-Stoeckchen von uebern Kanal/ A little Award-Stick flew over the Channel

November 2018

Also bitte, Ihr muesst nicht nochmals teilnehmen 🙂

Oktober 2014

The English Version is after the ….. picture 🙂

FRAGEN!?!

(z.B. Änderungen von Produktnamen, Softwareupdates, geänderte Formulare etc…)

ein Update? Run and hide…..

2. Stell dir vor, du kannst dich kreativ frei entfalten, was gehst du an?

8. Glückwunsch! Du bist bis hier hin gekommen. Ab jetzt wird es weitergehen. 🙂 Was also wünscht du dir für dein Weblog?

NEIN/NO/NON/NJET…..

  1. Frau Paulchen
  2. Ulf
  3. Tante Jay
  4. Linda
  5. Rachel
  6. Cheryl
  7. Shan
  8. Jetgirlcos
  9. Opinionated Man
  10. PsychoFritze
  11. Merlin
Und ich frage Euch:

  1. Was wuerdest Du zum 5-Uhr-Tee essen: Sandwich oder scone?
  2. Ein Buch, das Dich immer noch begleitet?
  3. Was wuerdest Du abschaffen, wenn Du die Macht haettest?
  4. Dein Lieblingsgedicht und warum?
  5. Du darfst einen Garten gestalten: Was wuerdest Du pflanzen?
Euch viel Spass dann beim Weiterwerfen….

November 2018

I love to get awards but as this one is from 2014 I deleted the links to those I had forwarded this one. So please, you do not need to take part again 🙂

October 2014

Mr Westsideblogger has thrown me a stick over the Channel (you know the big one under which even Obelix wanted to build a tunnel 😉 ). I actually do not blog here anymore: I am much too impatient to stay with one blog but if Westsideblogger calls I answer. And what has he thrown to me exactly? An Award-Stick with many questions….

Here are the rules for the stick-throwing:

  • set a link to the stick-thrower
  • a few answers to …. QUESTIONS!?!
  • throw 11 sticks (yes, that makes 11 bloggers 🙂 )
  • Now you can ask: 11 times to be exact
  • If those 11 did not catch the stick: Tell them
This is what Westsideblogger asked me:

1. How do you perceive changes and how do you deal with them? (E.G. Change of product names, softwareupdates, changed forms ect….)

An update? Run and hide…..

2. Imagine you could be entirely free creatively: What project would you start?

I would like to paint the Eifeltower pink. I think a tower like that has to be pink in the city of love.

3. Where does art stop and consumerism start?

Difficult qeustion ~ have never been able to answer that

4. What is your contribution to culture? (In your town, in the world, in your street or whereever)

I brought Spaetzle and Stollen to Great Britain, I write a poem a day for a year and teach my step-children the odd German word 🙂

5. Toothpaste. Is it enough or do you chew on some tree bark too?

Tree bark ~ a good idea too but no: dental floss and mouthwash

6. Do you have a TV? And If why? If not why not?

We have one. If I am on my own its mainly switched off as the laptop gives me all my entertainment. If the rest of the family is in, it is on. Mainly for the playstation 🙂

7. Thinking back: Do you think life has treated you pretty random or is there a plan in your life (your own, your parent’s, a masterplan)?

I would love to have a plan but I fear life has treated me entirely at random.

8. Congratulations! You made it here but it goes on now 🙂 What do you wish for your weblog?

Which of the 13 blogs do you mean? Right for this one, well, this was already stopped but maybe I resurrect it now 🙂

9. Do you do lists? With what and why and how do you feel if you cannot fulfil all of the tasks?

I use Todoist because it feels so spiritual and makes me do things. And if I cannot get them done… you better don’t get in my way then 😉

10. Do you believe in the driverless car of the future?

NEIN/NO/NON/NJET…..

11. Bad. Who do you think about if you hear that word?

Lord Voldemort and Sauron 🙂

And I throw the stick to:

No guys don’t worry you can do it in the language you actually speak and write in. NO need for bi-lingualism….. 🙂

  1. Frau Paulchen
  2. Ulf
  3. Tante Jay
  4. Linda
  5. Rachel
  6. Cheryl
  7. Shan
  8. Jetgirlcos
  9. Opinionated Man
  10. PsychoFritze
  11. Merlin
And I ask you:

  1. What would you eat for 5-O’clock Tea: Sandwich or scone?
  2. A book that still accompanies you?
  3. What would you abolish if you would have the power?
  4. Your favourite poem and why?
  5. You can create a garden: What would you plant?
  6. A blog which really makes you laugh?
  7. The shop which you just cannot walk by without buying something in?
  8. Your favourite gadget and why it is cool?
  9. Your dream holiday destination and why?
  10. Your favourite word no matter the language?
  11. Why do you stand on one foot and juggle forks?
Have fun with throwing it onwards….
