Love Is In Da Blog 2020 Day 21 : Find a song with love & flowers & Prompt for Day 22

Good Day dear people of the blogosphere, how are you rolling? I hope happily along a beach or your favourite path instead of any challenge. But if you are not so lucky, get yourself a mug of your favourite hot beverage, a cookie and feel the love coming your way.

Please bear with me if I am not answering your comments today or visit your blogs. Life has thrown me another challenge this year. This afternoon I will find out more about what sort of cancer is growing in me. I will either have to go through more examinations (already had a CT, MRI and bone scan) or what treatment will be the best.

The suspicion is primary breast cancer but they found the cells by accident so checked other possibilities to be sure. You can imagine that I am slightly pre-occupied at the moment. I’ll keep you updated and am grateful for prayers and good vibes ๐Ÿ˜‡.

Not an easy way to get back from the big C to #LoveIsInDaBlog so it’s simply:

Today’s intriguing prompt is from Barbara:

Find a song with love & flowers. Thanks Barbara!!!!!

Please head over to her wonderful blog โ€œTeleporting Weenaโ€ and find out more about her and her interests.

I have to admit I had trouble with this one even though I am sure there is no lack of flowery love songs out there. Luckily I was checking out an old favourite of mine Yusuf Islam the artist formerly known as Cat Stevens. And guess what? He brought out a new album and one song is called “All kind of roses”. Well, I don’t know if it is that new but it’s new to me ๐Ÿ™‚ .

I know that he fell out of favour with many when he converted to Islam and did not take his comments about the fatwa against Salman Rushdie as serious as they needed to be taken. To me, he is still a great artist and I love his songs for the humanity they always showed. And this song is a celebration of love and all good things in life.

Please, follow the link underneath if the video does not play here on the blog

All Kinds Of Roses” via A-Z Lyrics

All kinds of roses, all kinds of roses
All kinds of roses grow in my garden
All kinds of creatures, all kinds of creatures
All kinds of creatures run on my land

All kinds of children, all kinds of children
All kinds of children play in my yard
So many feelings, so many feelings flow through my blood

All kinds of people, all kinds of people
All kinds of people make up my life
All kinds of faces, all kinds of faces
All kinds of faces show me their love

All kinds of lanterns, all kinds of lanterns
All kinds of lanterns light up the dark
But there’s only one God, only one God has a place in my heart

All kinds of roses, all kinds of roses
All kinds of roses grow in my garden

Love Is In Da Blog 2020 prompt for Day 22

Letโ€™s get down memory lane again and find a song about:

A love song from the year we started school

I can’t figure why I chose this school theme throughout this “Love Is In Da Blog” but hey, let’s roll with it ๐Ÿ™‚

Now dear readers

go, find music

and have lots of fun!!!!

Of Gates of Hell, Good News & PodCasts

Hello my good people of WordPress and wherever you might blog or read blogs. How are you doing my dears? I am nearly asleep. Done the bad step to put Farmville2 back on my phone and couldn’t stop playing last night. But we got up at 4am to allow a dog walk while it is still cool (in fact I’ve been freezing at the beach) and even two strong Italian Style coffees can’t keep the yawns from my mouth.

Of Gates of Hell

And then I thought I am dreaming. Well, having nightmares really. I wrote over at Therapybits:

The ArchBrexiteer is in Number Ten now and I had to laugh out loud when I read this Tweet (link goes to my retweet):

โ€œEveryone thinks itโ€™s a #Heatwave hitting the UK. But in fact itโ€™s the Gates of Hell opening for Boris Johnson getting into number 10. #BorisDay โ€œ

ย
No, don’t worry I am not going down that road. Most of you know anyway how I feel about Brexit and you can read my rather bad poetic take on today here on Carol Anne’s Blog.
ย

Of Good News

ย
What is the best thing to do when you hear bad news? Counter them with good news and aren’t we lucky today? It is Tuesday so off we go and find some Good News ๐Ÿ˜‰ .
ย
In times like these when many people feel their religion is better than that of another and many more want to put up walls, fences and other dividing devices this award in the US is brilliant:
ย
ย
Even though I have to admit I find it rather ironic that the country with the man in the White House who says nasty things about Muslims on a continuous basis honors a very brave man and Imam:
ย
Imam Abubakar Abdullahi, hid 262 Christian farmers in his home and Mosque in 2018 when their fellow Islamic farmers went on an attack spree. What a hero!
ย
ย
In my opinion, this is such an important thing to report as the media seems to only show radicalized Muslim Imams (yes I know there are no other Imams …. ) who spread as much hate as some of our egotistic Western and so-called Christian leaders.
ย
There are decent religious leaders in all religions and I think it is time we shout their deeds and wisdom from the rooftops or from our blogs!
ย

Of PodCasts

ย
In other news, The Bee has discovered PodCasts. I know, I know I am rather late but somehow it escaped my attention how many cool bits to listen to are out there!
ย
It’s all the BBC’s fault which advertised “Forest 404” on TV. This is an intriguing PodCast by BBC Sounds about the future, AI and how forests and in fact all wildlife got extinct. It is accompanied by talks from scientists about climate change and soundscapes that make you experience the story in more depth. It was one of the coolest things I ever heard!
ย
I have to admit though I haven’t figured out yet where else I could listen to them and where to find any that I like. “BrexitCast” is the only other series I am listening to on a regular basis (only when I scrape the paint from our bathroom walls though. Yes, The Bee develops expertise in renovating a home ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) And I tried one which is called TED Radio Hour.
ย
So my question for you my dear friends today is: Do you listen to PodCasts and can you suggest any interesting ones to me?ย
ย
That’s it for today. No, it’s not ๐Ÿ™‚
of course, there is also a little “Blast from the Past”:
ย

July 2019

Please forgive my bad planning of my re-posts ๐Ÿ™‚ but maybe I like remembering spring?

March 2015

There was a time when Twitter was not connected with an information service or social network but only with the sounds birds make.

Some of us might already have the pleasure of spring approaching. Yes, I know it is still another 10 days until spring officially starts (no not meteorologically that was on the first I think) and I also know I am only speaking for the Northern Hemisphere but still: It’s getting warmer, and at least I do hear more and more birds tweeting around in the morning.

I think that’s great. For me, that is clearly a sign that warmer days (hopefully) will come soon, and life will feel a little easier. It’s also a sign that not all tweeting happens on Twitter ;-).

Love Is In Da Blog 18 ~ My Favourite Queer Love Song & Prompt Post for February 19th

Welcome back ladies and gentlemen, our time travel is over and still so many songs to share. Again I want to mention LightmotifsII, A Unique Title to me, TeleportingWeena, My Rattled Cage and Janet’s Smile who are taking part and sharing so many beautiful songs. Thanks, fellow bloggers for making this event worthwhile! And if I missed someone, sorry. Please let me know and I add you ๐Ÿ™‚ .

It is ironic that this morning’s “A Prompt A Day For Bee” mentions the musical “Rent” because one of its songs is what I’ve chosen for my queer song today. There is a word in German that is written similarly. It is “Quer” and means “wonky” or “crosswise” and I suspect that is what “being queer” means too: Being out of the ordinary, not following the rules or the norm.

However, I’ve always wondered what is the norm when it comes to love. Why is it such a problem if a man loves a man or if a person feels that she was born in the wrong gender? There is more under heaven and earth than we usually are willing to see or observe and I wish for a world where everybody is allowed to love as they please as long as all parties are able to consent and do consent. And surely if its love it is a good thing no matter who loves who?

The song I have chosen is “Seasons of Love” which I believe is one of the most beautiful and true love songs I have ever heard. Some years ago I was listening to it all the time but now I am more into Muse or Hozier ๐Ÿ™‚ .

The beginning lines…

“525,600 minutes
525,000 moments so dear
525,600 minutes
How do you measure, measure a year?

In daylights, in sunsets, in midnights, in cups of coffee
In inches, in miles, in laughter, in strife
In 525,600 minutes
How do you measure a year in the life?

How about love? (source A-Z Lyrics)

…always get me because that is what life is about: it’s about sunsets, cups of coffee and love and not about minutes, gender stereotypes or business success. We forget that so often.

Love comes in so many forms and we should not be disregarding them just because we do not understand them. I like that Native American saying: “Never criticize a man until you’ve walked a mile in his moccasins.” And while I know I am rather fast in judging people who do not follow my political ideals I try to learn not to do that. People always have viable reasons why they believe in what they believe in and why they act how they act.

I am losing my train of thought here I think.

Life is short and love is often hard to come by so we better appreciate it in any form that is given to us than rejecting it because it doesn’t fulfil our standards. Am I preaching? Probably. Never mind. I felt like it today and I hope you forgive me. So here is the song:

I admit February might not be the most preferred month for getting married even though the 14th might lend itself for a good wedding. Love Is In Da Blog 9 ~ A Love Song from 1939-1948 & Prompt Post for February 10th

Welcome ladies and gentlemen to this musical lunacy that “Love Is In Da Blog” in 2019! Today we are entering a tough decade. WWII is roaring and won by some lost by others. What seems incredible to me is that love songs seem to have kept both soldiers and civilians going. Because after all isn’t it love that we fight for the most?

I am going all instrumental today. You can imagine that jazz and swing was pretty taboo in the country that I come from in that decade. However, those who didn’t buy into the illusion of Hitler’s philosophy still listened to it but it might have cost their lives.

I once saw a film about Glen Miller and I remember how tragic I found his disappearance so short before the end of the war. According to Wikipedia, his music had more chart hits than Elvis Presley and the Beatles and I think that is quite something.

Moonlight Serenade” is one of the most romantic songs I can imagine and I think it would be our song if the best husband (Jeremy Clarkson voice) in the world would love that sort of music (it’s Pink Floyd instead…and what does that say of the state of our minds LOL ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

No big history lesson today so just sit back, grab a Mai Tai and let the good times roll ๐Ÿ˜‰

Blog Love ~This, That and the Other Thing

February 2019

It’s brilliant to re-discover great blogs!

March 2016

Today I want to introduce you to Sustainabilitea and her blog “This, That and the Other Thing”.

I fell through her door so to speak as she takes part in Norm’s Thursday Doors and her pictures are just brilliant. She can also be found on Wordless Wednesday and several other photo challenges which are met with humour and skill.

However, the lady used to homeschool and travel a lot so you can find some posts about ancient history of Greece and other places thereabouts. Incredibly interesting. And you can even find some poetryย if I am not mistaken. So please take a minute to hop over to “This, That and the Other Thing” and let yourself be whisked away to other worlds and universes :-). Thank you!
