Environmental Justice is all our responsibility #ClimateJusticeSaturday

Hello out there, how are you. Yes, I am asking again because I care. And even if you do not leave a comment and answer me, know that you are in my prayers (and thoughts if you do not care for prayers) daily.

In recent months we have been pre-occupied with the COVID-19 pandemic and now with the #BlackLivesMatter revolution. However, in my opinion, both come together in one big issue that we need to address rather yesterday than tomorrow.

The idea of climate- and environmental justice brings together issues of social justice, race and other problems we struggle with. Injustices of not getting a good education and following a good job, of racism, of workers rights will become even worse when resources become scarce because of climate change. But these issues also keep climate change going. We are thinking that because we have not enough money we cannot act climate-friendly while, in fact, most climate-friendly actions mean “less is more” and therefore cost less too.

That is the reason why I keep my #ClimateJusticeSaturday series going to educate myself and you about the issues and what we can do.

Today I have chosen a short documentary by Julian Kane who is a filmmaker. His mission are documentaries that inspire people. In 2016 they brought 24 leaders together to remind ourselves and each other that climate and environmental justice is all our responsibility. Please enjoy:

Just one more thing before you go: The hospital that is treating me for cancer is fundraising for a dedicated breast cancer unit which would allow same-day diagnosis and better premises for patients and staff.

Please, if you can spare a little money hop over to their Just Giving Page and give as little or much as you can. Or share the page on your social media. Your support means a lot to me! Thank you very much.

  1. I think the pursuit of wealth and glory has a had a lot of nasty byproducts – damage to our environment, mistreatment of humans and animals. It is too late at night and I am too sleepy to get started really.

Oh for a united human family who work together to achieve something really wonderful, a beautiful clean healthy home and who look after each other.

    • Hi Caramel, your comment ended up in my spam folder. I am very, very sorry. I share your dream. For sure, I am not always particularly patient with my fellow humans and have a bit of an anger problem with some of them but basically I work for changing my habits there. Maybe we dream together????
