What Day Is It Anyway? Climate Edition (4.4.20)

Hello dear people of the blogosphere, how are you? I hope life is treating you well and if you are struggling know that you are in my prayers and thoughts.

I nearly didn’t write this post. As I wrote yesterday, I could take my dressings off. My hope was that the soreness I felt more and more for a couple of days would go with them. But it didn’t. It got worse. And I started to worry. And I just wanted to lay down and rest and forget about everything. And I decided to give my arm some rest. But then the breast care nurse called, and I asked her, and she said that’s how it is because the skin still has to heal around the wounds. Sounds logic, doesn’t it?

So I calmed down and decided to do a short post for today. What did I do with the rest of the day? Again I watched telly. And had lots of cups of tea. And I took the dog up the garden. And I played a little Farmville II. And that was that. I am rather tired now. But I still give you something to learn, something to smile about and something to listen to ๐Ÿ™‚

I know it seems really hard to think about the climate crisis in this COVID-19 crisis. But the virus will pass while the climate crisis won’t unless we change our lifestyle effectively towards a zero-carbon emission lifestyle.

These last weeks have shown that we all can change our lifestyles drastically. So we’ll be able to the same for our environment.

We do need something cute in these dire times. This video made me really happy and I thought I’d share it with you ๐Ÿ™‚

And something else always makes me smile. It’s these wonderful people doing wonderful things despite everything.

And as for the end of this post something to laugh about. If you, like me, were a teenage girl in the 80’s you might have liked “Come on Eileen”. I loved that song, but this couple made a hilarious COVID-19 version.

And why am I writing about my day?

Linda over at โ€œLife in Progressโ€ has started the โ€œWhat day is it anywayโ€ blog event. She invites us all to share a little of our new daily routines, struggles and successes. She writes: โ€œ

Why Iโ€™m writing this post:

Because if youโ€™re like me and stuck at home already, or if youโ€™re going to be like me soon, the days of the week are going to be hell to keep track of. We have a wonderful community here on WordPress and all over the Internet as well, and Iโ€™m sure many people are feeling nervous and/or isolated. I want to make sure every one of us has somewhere to congregate and someone to talk to.

I want everyone to know that you can start discussions with each other in the comments, and if youโ€™d like to write your own โ€œWhat Day is it Anyway?โ€ post, you can link to this one. Hashtag #WDIIA.

Letโ€™s keep in touch!

And I can only encourage you to take her up on the offer ๐Ÿ™‚ . Here is her post from Thursday.

That is it for today. Keep reading and writing, my friends, keep smiling and keep being kind to yourselves and those around you. Remember: You rock!

Just one more thing before you go: The hospital that is treating me is fundraising for a dedicated breast cancer unit which would allow same-day diagnosis and better premises for patients and staff.

Please, if you can spare a little money hop over to their Just Giving Page and give as little or much as you can. Or share the page on your social media. Your support means a lot to me! Thank you very much.

Thanks my dears, for staying with me until the end. I appreciate your presence. Please stay safe, stay kind and remember that you rock!
