Blast from the Past: #230 of #365 A Prompt A Day For Bee ~ Golden Shovel

This post was first published in January 2015
Today I try out a new poetry form I have never heard of before. It is called “The Golden Shovel” and was created by Terrance Hayes.
The rules are easy: Take one line of a poem you like and use it’s words as the end words of your poems lines. If you chose Β a line with 7 words your poem would have 7 lines. Give credit to the original author and go for it.
I have chosen a line from Maya Angelou’s famous poem “Still I rise“. The line is
“Leaving behind nights of terror and fear”
My Hope Won’t Feel Fear
Now I am leaving.
I throw everything behind
me and my nights.
There of
all the pain and terror
will vanish and
my hope won’t feel fear.
