Liebster Award from Gail

Looks like I take this week to catch up on all the challenges I was awarded this year. Yesterday I finished a story for Barbara’s “Tell a Story” challenge which was rather fun and today I follow Gail’s invitation for “The Liebster Award”. Thanks Gail, you rock!!!!

I have been awarded the “Liebster Award” before and am grateful that other bloggers feel my scribbling is worth mentioning πŸ˜‰ . . Let’s remind ourselves of the rules.

The rules:
Acknowledge the blogger that gave it to you and display the award.
Answer 11 questions that the blogger gave you.
Give 11 random thoughts about yourself.
Nominate 11 other bloggers and notify them of their nomination.
Ask your nominees 11 questions.
β€œThis award is meant to encourage new bloggers. From The Global Aussie: β€œThe earliest case of the award goes as far back as 2011. Liebster in German means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome.”

Questions for the Nominees:

1. Who told you about God?
2. Do you have a favorite Bible verse?
3. How long’s it been since you used a landline?
4. What is your blog about?
5. How long have you had your blog?

8. Do you have a favorite flower?
9. Is there something I could pray about for you?
10. What kind of books do you like to read?
11. What season is it for you where you live?

My answers:

1. Who told you about God?

That would have been my mother, I guess. She said a good night prayer with me from a very early age on. My parents weren’t religious in the sense that they went to church or were actively part of a religious community. However, they believed it was important to experience the main religion in our country. We said praise for our food and went to church at Christmas, for funerals and christenings. But I got rather involved in the protestant church in the village I grew up in and while I am not part of a church now and have my misgivings with some Christians I am very grateful for the protection Christianity and the church has given me as a youngster. I would not be alive without them and my godmother, grandmother and my friends.

2. Do you have a favorite Bible verse?

My goodness, it’s a long time since I thought or read a bible verse. WhenΒ  myΒ  mum passed away someone gave me a card with Isiah 66,13 on it: As a mother comforts her son, so I will comfort you!” The German translation is slightly different but it helped a lot. I guess this is the one πŸ™‚

3. How long’s it been since you used a landline?

I got a call on Monday evening

4. What is your blog about?

Now that is a very good question: life, poetry, my pet peeve Brexit, photography, music, enlightening YouTube videos, self-care, mental health… you take a pick πŸ˜‰

5. How long have you had your blog?

I started this one last year in April I think but I had several (nearly 20 LOL) before that. I started blogging back in 2009.

6. What was your last post about?

One of my poems called “Call me Sister”

7. Have you been baptized?

yes

8. Do you have a favorite flower?

Roses and Sunflowers

9. Is there something I could pray about for you?

I rather tell you that in private πŸ™‚ but thanks a lot you think of me.

10. What kind of books do you like to read?

Fantasy and Crime novels (and pretty much everything else too πŸ˜‰ )

11. What season is it for you where you live?

It is nearly spring. Hurray!

  1. PTL! Congrats on your Liebster Award, Bee! What a beautiful testimony with your mom and grandmother. I love that verse too! God has such interesting ways to introduce Himself to each of us.
I have been praying for your prayer even without knowing the details. I saw the post earlier this week, but have been struggling to have energy and time after some nerve blocks I’ve had. God knows everything! He just loves us bringing our friends to His throne.
Praying you had a blessed week! God loves you!
