As promised….

May 2015

…. I am translating a poem that takes part in #frapalymo.

Marlies Blauth is a wonderful artist who does not only write poetry but also takes pictures and draws. Her blog Kunst| Marlies Blauth is worth a look even if you do not understand German.

You can find her first poem for this year’s May #frapalymo here. I asked this morning on Twitter if my fellow #frapalymoists in Germany mind me translating their poems and Marlies said that would be fine, so I take the opportunity and go for it :-).

In| spring 1

early in the morning
the breath is heavy
grey dewed paths
seem to be full of obstables
made of chill –
suddenly
my tiredness
starts dancing with me
while in my head
memories chime
how my father
woke me
with piano songs
and the morning
lures with bright curiosity
at sunrise
happy questions prosper
in step with the music
